A modern, metallic cladded building designed by Zaha Hadid Architects has been created to link two traditional buildings within St Antony’s Oxford campus. The building provides a tailored environment for Middle Eastern studies.
The building includes three archive rooms for historic Middle Eastern literature, archive offices, reading rooms, Café and a basement auditorium. A four story spiral staircase sits at the centre of the building highlighting the mixture of high quality sleek concrete, timber and white plaster finishes.
Lowe and Oliver undertook the complete Mechanical & Electrical installation of the Building.
This involved the installation of the following systems,
- Ground source heating
- Air conditioning cooling
- Hot and cold water systems
- Air handling units
- Lighting control system
- Self-test emergency lighting
- Audio visual systems
- Controlled access, CCTV & Fire alarm
